More or less ruined the Allgrass part of the drawing last night. Trying to put too much detail next to something that was already heavily detailed: I should've just left it as it was (see photograph in the last posting.) Then I tried to cover the mistake with gouache. That never ever works, which is one of the reasons I don't use gouache. When you're a watercolortist, the use of gouache generally signals a fuck-up which, rather than covering the mistake, does nothing but draw naked attention to it. Frustrating. Deeply frustrating. Man, I'm pissed. (See Stabby Chair.)
But: sunset on the roof. Can't beat that.
