Brooklyn Botanical Gardens yesterday. Lovely day for it: sunny, 70, breezy. Huge lilac bushes in bloom. In fact, all kinds of things in bloom (no roses) and the leaves still small, shy and new yellow-greeny. There is an amazing beech tree overlooking that place where people get married. Smooth, pewtery skin and straight branches. Nothing like the beech trees in the front yard at the Lesley address in Indianapolis.

Saw lots of birds.

Some type of cormorant (black, long thin hooked orange beak)
American Robin
Some type of woodpecker (big un)
House Finch
House Sparrow
White-crested Sparrow (not sure this is the appropriate nomenclature)
Some type of hawk (being chased by smaller song birds)
Unidentified Bird (Will identify and update)
