Indianapolis 4.19.11

So I've now listed all of the buildings on the map which are currently numbered. 435 buildings so far, I think. I am still sussing out the details for New Indianapolis so it might yet be a bit before the thing is finished. But an end is in site._

This drawing is kind of huge in terms of what is going into it. The rule I've imposed: everything in the map must come from my memories during the time I spend in Indianapolis (1971-1995.) So everything in the drawing is either a.) a direct memory b.) something poetical and tangentially related to some of these memories or c.) complete fantasy cooked up during the last year (map, flags and heraldry, general mythology of Western Refractoria) . . . a lot of which, of course, came from my Dungeons and Dragons days back in Indianapolis.

Musically, I've been working my way through Miles Davis's In Concert: Live at Philharmonic Hall. It's an old album--in fact, it dates back to my final months in Indianapolis in 1995. That's probably not an accident. But it's electric Miles at his weirdest and most hypnotic.

So it's like a dream of a memory of Indianapolis? That's really kind of amazing...

It's more like a way to organize my memories of Indianapolis in the form of a map.

Can I use this map to get to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame (I haven't looked closely). Cuz I hear that's where it's at.

Yes, it's number 115 on the list. It's located in a very tiny building on Cvengros Alley.
